NLSDays gathers big pharma executives, investors and CEOs of biotech, pharma and medtech companies and discusses the road ahead for the life science industry.

A strong Gothenburg presence

As host city, Gothenburg companies and organisations will have a very strong presence in the exhibition hall, partnering event and on the conference stages. 

Exhibition hall

In the exhibition hall, key companies and organisations from the Gothenburg region – including AstraZeneca, GoCo Health Innovation City, GU Ventures, Sahlgrenska Science Park, Region Västra Götaland, Akademiska Hus and Business Region Göteborg – are exhibiting and will be gathered in one area. Just look for the hanging “Gothenburg” banner. Throughout the event the Gothenburg companies will be holding silent seminars and other joint activities.  

In the Gothenburg stand (B07:16) you can meet us, Business Region Göteborg, the region’s economic development and investment promotion agency. Our team can introduce you to and help you navigate the region’s life science ecosystem. We can also help you identify and capture investment opportunities – and build long-term success in the region. Our life science experts Iris Öhrn (investment advisor) and Kristina Levan (business developer and ecosystem strategist), will be on site and are also taking part in the partnering event and are available for meetings. 

Our national partner Business Sweden is also exhibiting and in close vicinity to the Gothenburg area.

Monday, 13 October

15:00-15:30 Gothenburg's Global Entrepreneurs. A visionary from Gothenburg's 17th-century trading era is brought back to life to meet four groundbreaking companies from medtech, biotech, tech and quantum computing. Presented by Business Region Göteborg and ecosystem partners.

15:30-16:00 The public sector’s role in shaping the future of life science. Arranged by Region Västra Götaland in collaboration with AstraZeneca. 

16:00-17:00 Sahlgrenska Global Health Hackathon Award Ceremony. Welcome to the award ceremony for the winner of Sahlgrenska Global Health Hackathon. During the past year hackathons in this series, aiming to address global healthcare challenges, have been held in Sweden, Spain, the UK, the US, Germany and Singapore. This Gothenburg initiative involves partners from the local and global life science ecosystem. 

Tuesday, 14 October

11:15-12:00 Culture as a competitive advantage – a Nordic perspective. A supersession featuring leading figures from AstraZeneca, Chalmers University of Technology, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Healthcap. 

12:35-12:55 Investing in Sweden: From insight to action. Presented by Business Sweden. Among the speakers is our very own Gothenburg life science expert Iris Öhrn.  

Sites visits

If you are interested in seeing first-hand Gothenburg’s growing research and innovation hubs and meeting key stakeholders, don’t miss the site visits on Wednesday, 15 October. The programme includes GoCo Health Innovation City, AstraZeneca’s R&D site, Sahlgrenska Science Park and Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
