Navigating Your Child’s Education in Sweden: What Parents Need to Know

Are you not sure what´s is or could be the next step for you child in the Swedish school system? Look over here! At this event, you will meet representatives from the City of Gothenburg’s Preschool Administration, Compulsory School Administration, and Education Administration.

Starting or continuing your child’s education journey in a new country can feel overwhelming, especially when the system is unfamiliar. This session is designed to give you clarity, confidence, and practical guidance on how the Swedish education system works.

Join us for a hybrid event where you’ll meet experts from the City of Gothenburg and gain a clear overview of the different stages of education, from early childhood to upper secondary school.

Meet representatives from:

Preschool Administration (ages 0–5) Responsible for municipal preschools, family day care, and open preschools.
Compulsory School Administration (ages 6–15)C overs compulsory school, adapted compulsory school, preschool class, after-school care (fritidshem), and the municipal school of arts.
Education Administration (ages 16–19)Responsible for upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, and parts of municipal adult education.
