New infrastructure projects
In Gothenburg, well-functioning logistics and transport are already in place. The city also invests heavily in infrastructure projects and public transportation to meet the demands of tomorrow. In 2020-21, the award-winning Hisingsbron bridge, a multi-modal transportation link, and Marieholm road tunnel were opened, improving connections across the city.
An underground railway system, known as the West Link project, is currently under construction in central Gothenburg. The major project will improve the city’s rail connections and capacity. A key milestone, the opening of Central station, will take place in December 2026.
