Swedish top politicians participate as world leaders in electric vehicles gather in Gothenburg
Sweden's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Ebba Busch and Minister for Infrastructure Andreas Carlson are two of the ministers attending EVS38 in Gothenburg, the world's most important conference and trade fair for electric transport. The automotive industry is gearing up. Gothenburg is looking forward to welcoming 10,000 visitors to the Swedish Exhibition Centre from June 15-18.
The International Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition in Gothenburg, EVS38, is the world's leading event dedicated to the electrification of all modes of transport. It is aimed at a diverse audience - experts of all kinds and anyone interested in the future of electric mobility.
Decarbonisation of the transport sector is the main theme of the programme. It will be explored from different angles:
- Technological: update on advances in technology, battery composition, infrastructure and smart grid integration
- Legislative: Policies and regulations that are shaping and will shape the future of mobility
- Urban Adoption: How cities can create new mobility solutions that are as environmentally friendly as possible

Manufacturers, policy makers and nearly 400 researchers from around the world will share the latest research and technology in the field of electric vehicles through panel discussions and technical demonstrations. More than 200 exhibitors from up to 70 countries are expected in Gothenburg.
Overall, the congress programme aims to promote dialogue, learn from best practice, stimulate decisive action and offer practical solutions. This is the first time that EVS, an annual event that alternates between Asia, Europe and North America, will be held in Sweden.
