Saab grows with new facility in Gothenburg
Saab is expanding its operations in the Gothenburg region, adding a new facility with space for 500 people in Mölnlycke.
The background to the expansion is increasing demand for radar and sensor systems.
“In order to meet the high demand for our world-leading capabilities, we are expanding our operations in the Gothenburg region with additional office space and production capacity,” said Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab’s business area Surveillance, in a press release.
“Gothenburg has a strong cluster of microwave competence as well as universities and other industry. We look forward to continuing to grow and create jobs in the region,” he said.
In Gothenburg, Saab currently has around 3,200 employees. It develops and produces airborne and ground-based radar- and sensor systems such as the GlobalEye airborne early warning and control aircraft and the Giraffe radar family.
Saab is scheduled to move into the new facility in June 2026. The lease entails office premises, development spaces and light industrial production, according to the property owner, Castellum.
Saab will keep its existing Gothenburg site in Kallebäck.
