Gothenburg to host major Nordic cleantech event

Cleantech Capital Day, a leading cleantech conference and matchmaking event, returns to Gothenburg, the city where it all started 20 years ago. Investors, industry leaders and some of the Nordic’s most promising cleantech companies will gather in the city on 2-3 June.

The two-day conference is arranged by Cleantech Scandinavia, with Business Region Göteborg as an organising partner.

“Gothenburg has long been a centre for cleantech solutions and a driving force in Sweden’s green transition. We are pleased to partner with this year’s conference and look forward to facilitating new partnerships and investments that can scale up cleantech innovations,” says Hans Larsson, investment advisor for green tech at Business Region Göteborg.

The event will gather key players from the Nordic and Baltic cleantech ecosystem, as well as an international community of investors.

“Today, cleantech is no longer a niche. It is one of the most significant investment opportunities of our time. And the Nordics continue to lead with world-class engineering, strong industrial heritage, abundant clean energy, and founders building solutions with global relevance,” says Magnus Agerström, chair of Cleantech Scandinavia.

The programme includes seminars, open roundtables and panel discussions providing insights into current trends shaping the sector. It will also feature matchmaking sessions, networking opportunities, a tech tour, company pitches and the finals of the startup competition Nordic Cleantech Open.

In the lead up to the event, Business Region Göteborg, has played an active role in engaging the local ecosystem and companies.

“We are also hosting an investor lunch and mingle at The Yard, a new tech arena. This will be followed by the Nordic Cleantech Open finals, where we are also part of the jury,” says Hans Larsson.

As Gothenburg’s economic development agency, Business Region Göteborg works with attracting companies and capital to the region. We also work with strengthening the local tech scene and accelerating the business sectors transition towards sustainability. We will have multiple representatives on-site at Cleantech Capital Day.
