Einride raises $100m to accelerate global expansion

Swedish logistics innovator Einride has raised about USD 100 million in funding as it steps up the deployment of its autonomous freight solutions and continues the development of its technology.

Founded in 2016, the Gothenburg/Stockholm company develops and operates a new freight ecosystem. This includes one of the world’s largest fleets of heavy-duty electric trucks, autonomous technology and a planning optimization platform.

“This funding allows us to grow with our customer base and accelerate the deployment of our autonomous freight technology. It’s a strong signal of confidence in both our team and our unique position in the market,” said Roozbeh Charli, CEO of Einride, in a press release, earlier this month.

The company said that net sales more than doubled in 2024, and that its footprint with global shippers grew across Europe and North America.

Among the investors is EQT Ventures, one of Einride’s largest shareholders.

“We believe Einride is building the most complete and forward-looking freight ecosystem on the market today. Nordic tech has a habit of being underestimated, until it quietly rewires an entire industry. That’s exactly what Einride is doing in freight,” said Ted Persson, partner at EQT Ventures, in a statement.

Einride said the raised USD 100 million includes an investment made earlier this year by quantum company IonQ.

Late last year, IonQ set up in Gothenburg and joined the AstraZeneca BioVentureHub, where it’s also exploring the potential of quantum computing in life science.
