This report analyses the current state, supply chain challenges, and foreign direct investment potential within the semiconductor industry in West Sweden.
Gothenburg and Västra Götaland are home to several key industries – including automotive, ICT, and aerospace and defense – that rely on semiconductors for production, R&D and operations. At the same time, Sweden and Europe are investing heavily in semiconductors to increase resilience and competitiveness.
This report was produced by Business Sweden on behalf of Business Region Göteborg and Region Västra Götaland. It was funded by VEGO, a project that aims to increase the number of sustainable investments in Västra Götaland.
