Women Game Jam 2026
Gothenburg Gaming Girls (GGG) and DONNA (from Sweden Game Arena) invite you to the Women Game Jam 2026! This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event worldwide and is the third year in a row that Sweden participates as a hosting country!
How does it work?
For 48 hours, women and non-binary folks from diverse backgrounds will come together to create video game prototypes from scratch. You don't need to know how to program, design, or have any experience in any area of game development.
Who can participate?
The WGJ is a space mainly for women, cis or trans, and non-binary folks interested in game development (no experience needed).
▪️You can participate from the age of 18.
▪️You don't need to have a pre-made team to participate. If you participate alone, the organizers will help you form a balanced team with people from diverse backgrounds: art, programming, storytelling, design, sound, and more.
▪️If you already have a team (partial or complete), you can also register with them. Registration is individual, meaning all members must be registered to participate together.
As in previous years, we will have both online and onsite participation:
ONLINE: You will be able to interact on the Global WGJ Discord server with participants from around the world! There are three languages within the server that you can choose to participate in: Spanish, Portuguese, and English. To participate, you only need your Discord account, a computer, and an internet connection.
ONSITE (Gothenburg): You will be at YesBox! The venue is in Gamlestaden, a charming and bustling area of Gothenburg, super close to many shops and restaurants, and just a couple of stations from the city center. To participate, you will need to bring your own computer, and we will provide you with internet access, relaxing spaces, and a super cozy atmosphere during the jam. If you are traveling from another city and need accommodation suggestions, let us know.
Important notes:
⚠️ All participants have to be registered on the Global WGJ Discord server, whether you participate online or onsite
