Music Meets Technology

Music Tech Summit is the conference for the music industry – new voices, new tech and the industry's future. Over two days at two venues in Gothenburg, artists, producers, companies, startups, researchers and organisers come together to look at how technology is reshaping music: from the creative process and the tools behind it to rights, licensing and future revenue models.

Expect keynotes, panel discussions, live demos and hands-on workshops – and plenty of time to meet the people building what comes next.

Programme

Day 1 – Tuesday 24 November, Pustervik (from 12:00)

Keynote

Theme 1 – Creativity & making
How has new technology changed music-making through history – from synths and samplers to AI? What does the research say, and how does the technology affect the creative process? Followed by a demo on the theme.

Theme 2 – Tools & innovation
How are the next generation of tools for the music industry created, and what do the people who use them actually think? In a meeting between tech companies, industry professionals and music creators, we explore the journey from idea to finished product and what the market really needs. Followed by a demo on the theme.

Evening: Tech Park – workshops and demonstrations

Day 2 – Wednesday 25 November, Skeppet GBG (until around 17:00)

Theme 3 – Copyright & future revenue models (held in English)
How are rights, licensing and business models affected by technological change? What opportunities and challenges lie ahead? Followed by a demo on the theme.

Afternoon: Workshops, reflection and think tank

More sessions are added as they are booked, and exact times are set closer to the conference. Speakers are presented on musictechsummit.se as they are confirmed.
