Gothenburg joins CALSTART's Drive to Zero program

We are pleased to announce that Gothenburg, through Business Region Göteborg, has joined CALSTART's Global Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero program.

The CALSTART's Global Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero program is a strategic international initiative designed to catalyze the growth of near- and zero-emission commercial vehicles – including transit, shuttle and school buses, as well as delivery vans, and medium- and heavy-duty trucks.

Through the program Drive to Zero, we will be working with a global team of leading innovators in sustainable transportation to share best practices, tools, ideas, challenges and victories, all with the common goal of maximizing clean air, climate and economic benefits that these vehicles provide.

The exchange between the actors in western Sweden and CALSTART has a long history. Ever since 2003, in connection with the Biogas West project, Business Region Göteborg and CALSTART have had a close relationship and exchanged knowledge and experiences.

In 2019, Executive Vice President Bill Van Amburg visited the event Automotive Networking Day at Lindholmen, Gothenburg, which attracted hundreds of entrepreneurs to come and listen to and be inspired by CALSTART's work with the transition to a fossil-free transport system.

Gothenburg has decided to change to fossil-free transports by 2030. This adaptation to Agenda 2030 is in line with the city's stated objective of embracing the technology transition to electrified transports to maximise the benefits of its effects. The transition will have a bearing on everything from urban development to charging infrastructure. This opens entirely new business opportunities for international companies operating in these areas.
