GE Additive expands footprint in Gothenburg with new site
GE Additive has expanded its manufacturing and R&D footprint in the Gothenburg region, opening a new site, the Arcam EBM Center of Excellence.
Situated at the Mölnlycke Business Park, southeast of Gothenburg, the facility has the capacity for up to 500 employees. With 15,000 square metres of floor space, the new site is three times larger than Arcam EBM’s previous site in Mölndal, Gothenburg.
According to GE Additive, production, R&D, training facilities and support functions will all be housed under one roof and this will allow it to put Lean manufacturing at the heart of its operations to increase production capacity.
“The Arcam EBM team in Gothenburg is energized to be in its new home - a dynamic, sustainable workplace - in a great location. We will harness that energy and continue to research, innovate and drive EBM technology further,” said Karl Lindblom, general manager GE Additive Arcam EBM when the site was officially opened on 20 August.
Founded in Gothenburg in 1997, Arcam EBM provides an additive manufacturing solution for the production of metal components. The company was acquired by GE in 2017.
